Why Veles?

(The name behind our clothing line — and the spirit woven into it.)

Veles is the Slavic god of earth, underworld, cattle, magic, and music.

A shape-shifter. A serpent. A guardian of secrets.

Where Perun rules the sky with thunder, Veles moves through roots, rivers, shadows.

He’s not the loudest god — but the one who always comes back.

That’s why we named our clothing line Veles Streetwear.

The Myth Behind the Name

In Slavic mythology, Veles (also spelled Volos) is a god of duality.
Protector of the dead and patron of musicians.
Linked to the underworld, but also to animals, commerce, poetry, and knowledge.

He’s the eternal rival of Perun, the thunder god — the two clash every year in a mythic cycle of destruction and rebirth. Veles rises from the roots, steals Perun’s cattle, and eventually falls — only to return again, always.

This rhythm of rebellion and return felt right for a brand rooted in music, mythology, and subcultural identity.

Why We Chose Veles

Clothing isn’t just decoration.
It’s how we carry symbols. How we mark ourselves.

We created Veles Streetwear for those who want to wear their myth — not as costume, but as a quiet signal.

Our designs mix mythological references, darker aesthetics, and underground culture — without trying to look like anything we’re not.

Veles whispers. That’s enough.

Veles in Culture & Subculture

Veles exists in many forms — across Slavic regions, languages, and legends.
In Polish, he’s Weles. In Russian, Volos.
Some see him as a devil, others as a sacred guardian of knowledge and the forest.

That ambiguity is part of the appeal.
He’s not easily defined. Neither are we.

In Veles Streetwear, we use his name not just to honor the myth, but to build something new from it — shirts, designs, and visuals that carry a meaning you don’t need to explain.

It’s not about reenactment. It’s about expression.
