Till Fest 2026 in Leipzig, Till Lindemann, Ministry, Aesthetic Perfection & More (Festival Review)

Expectations
Last weekend I was at Till Fest in Leipzig, right in front of the Völkerschlachtdenkmal, and the whole idea was already interesting from the beginning: two days, two worlds.
Till Lindemann played on Friday and Saturday with different outfits, different stage details and different setlists. There were also several bands across the two days. Ministry and Aesthetic Perfection played on both days, also with different setlists, and the rest of the lineup changed from Friday to Saturday.
On Friday there were Kite Thief, Mimi Barks, Lowlife, Aesthetic Perfection, Ministry and Till Lindemann. On Saturday there were Hemlock, Cober Mouth, Hocico, Erdling, Ministry, Aesthetic Perfection and again Till Lindemann.
I was really curious how this would work as a festival, because Till Lindemann as a normal concert is already a very specific experience. Turning it into two days with different bands, different vibes and two different headline shows sounded ambitious.
And overall, I have to say: I had a really good time.
Arrival, Merch & Beer
Let’s start with merch, because there was a lot.
There were several new festival items, including a Till Fest cap with all the bands listed underneath. The quality was really good. There was also the famous duck, which basically everyone was talking about and everyone wanted. It cost 30 euros, which is definitely expensive for a duck, but looking closer, it was quite customized and not just a normal rubber duck with different colors.
There was also a festival tote bag, two new fish designs in red and gold/yellow, and two festival shirts. One had all the bands on it, and the other had the poster design with the two faces of Lindemann. The quality of Lindemann clothing merch is usually very good, and this was the case again. The shirt cost 40 euros, which I think is okay for a festival shirt like this. I have paid 50 or 55 euros for Iron Maiden shirts before, so 40 euros felt fair in comparison.
There was also merch from the other bands. The setup had two different merch areas: one bigger stand, almost in the style of the usual large arena merch stands, and one smaller one. The only real problem was that the merch line could be very slow. On Saturday I stood there for about one hour, mostly because friends had asked me to bring them different things. For myself alone, I probably would not have waited that long.

There were no special festival beer cups, which many people had asked me about. Beer was from Beck’s, and I normally complain about Beck’s, but this time it actually tasted good. I don’t know why, but no complaints this time.

Because this was a festival and not just a concert, there were also several food options. You could even buy Indian food, which I don’t think I had seen at one of these events before. I kept it simple and had bratwurst and steak. The bratwurst on the first day was great, the one on the second day was a bit weirdly prepared, but overall food was fine.
I had a Golden Circle festival pass, which came with a golden wristband. There were also normal tickets and day tickets, and from what I saw, those had paper wristbands. The organization was very good. Everything felt efficient, and I had no real problems with entry or movement inside the area.

One thing I really want to highlight is the sound quality. I did not expect bad sound, but I also did not expect it to be that good. It sounded excellent from different positions. I moved around a lot during the bands, and almost everywhere the mix was strong and clear.
Friday
At the beginning on Friday, I was a bit surprised because it looked like there were not that many people yet. But it was still early and also Friday, so I thought maybe more people would come later. And that is exactly what happened. By the time Lindemann played, the area looked properly full.
Kite Thief
The first band I saw was Kite Thief.
Their music is not really my thing, but as a festival opener it worked fine. The atmosphere was good, and even if I would not normally listen to them at home, it was a solid way to start the day.

Mimi Barks
After that came Mimi Barks on the smaller stage.
That smaller stage was placed inside the Golden Circle area, and the timing between the stages was really well done. As soon as a band finished on the main stage, the next act started almost immediately on the smaller stage. There was basically no dead time.
Mimi Barks is also not exactly my style, but the performance was okay and she clearly tried to create energy with the crowd. I would not buy a ticket specifically for this kind of music, but as part of the festival it was fine and I had some fun.

Aesthetic Perfection
Then came Aesthetic Perfection on the main stage.
They have become quite popular in the Rammstein and Lindemann community, and you could feel that a lot of people were waiting for them. Of course there are also people who don’t like them, but for me they worked very well again.
I especially like the songs where they move more into an industrial metal direction. Daniel does a great job as a frontman, and the rest of the band also worked well. The lineup was not exactly the same as on the last Lindemann tour. The guitarist from that tour was not there, and instead there was a male musician who also performed the next day on the other stage.
Still, it was a very good show, strong vocals, good songs, and the crowd clearly enjoyed it.

Lowlife
After Aesthetic Perfection, the action moved back to the smaller stage for Lowlife.
This was one of the positive surprises of Friday for me. The singer was very good, especially in the heavier moments where he screamed more. Musically it moved more into a metal direction than some of the earlier bands, maybe with a bit of metalcore and a bit of that heavier groove feeling.
It was much closer to something I enjoy, and I liked them more than expected.

Ministry
Then came Ministry on the main stage.
They are obviously a well-known name and they had fans there, but they are not really my thing. Some songs had moments where I thought: okay, this is cool. But then it became too monotonous or not interesting enough for me again.
At some point I used the set to get a bratwurst and a beer.
That is not meant as disrespect. A festival cannot make every person happy with every band. Ministry are a big name and absolutely belong on a festival like this. I just personally did not connect with the set that much.

Till Lindemann
Then it was time for Till Lindemann.
Everything started on time, and Friday’s show was very good. But it was also almost completely in the same direction as the last tour, the black and gold look, the known production and a setlist that was to what he had played recently.
The only difference was Entre dos tierras, which had been part of the previous festival tour but not really in the middle of the arena tour at the end of the year.

Still, it was excellent. Musically, the band sounded very strong, and Till’s voice was clean and powerful. I already mentioned the sound before, but during Lindemann it was especially impressive. I don’t know who was responsible for the mix, but it sounded fantastic.
Friday was a very good Lindemann show, even if it did not feel as surprising as the second day.

Saturday
Saturday started with Hemlock, and they actually began about ten minutes earlier than planned. I don’t know why, but we were still outside and suddenly thought: please don’t tell me we are going to miss the whole show. Luckily, we still made it in time.
Hemlock
Hemlock were probably the biggest surprise of the whole festival.
Almost everyone seemed to like them. After the show, I saw people wanting to follow the band, take pictures with the singer and check them out properly. I also enjoyed them a lot.
They have existed for many years, as the singer himself explained, but they are still not a worldwide famous band. They tour by themselves, apparently even with their own car, and you could feel that very direct, honest energy.
They made a very good show and were a great start to Saturday.
Cober Mouth
I missed Cober Mouth completely because I was stuck in the merch line.
As I said, this is not a big criticism, but the line was slow. I stood there for about an hour, and because of that I missed their whole set. At least the merch mission was successful, because I could bring friends what they had asked for.
Hocico
After Cober Mouth came Hocico.
They are an industrial / dark electro band from Mexico, and I think they were known earlier especially in the gothic scene. I have seen them a few times before. It is not really my music, but the show was interesting.
Visually, they had a kind of Aztec-gothic look, plus dancers, drummer and more people on stage than I remembered from previous shows. Before, I had mostly seen them as a duo, so this felt bigger.
Still, not completely my thing, but interesting to watch.

Erdling
Then came Erdling on the smaller stage.
This was more in the direction of music I personally enjoy. I had already seen them before, and this was basically what you would expect from Erdling. Nothing shocking or completely different, but solid, enjoyable and good live.
Because of where I was standing, I mostly saw them from behind, but musically it worked well.

Ministry
Ministry played again on Saturday, and my reaction was basically the same as on Friday.
It was not my thing, and I was honestly not sad when the set ended. Sorry to Ministry fans, but it just did not work for me personally.

Aesthetic Perfection
Aesthetic Perfection were very different on Saturday.
This time it was more like their earlier electro / gothic / dark electronic side. No guitars, no drums, only electronic equipment, samplers and vocals. The musician who had played guitar on Friday handled the electronic parts here, while Daniel focused on singing.
I personally prefer the other version of Aesthetic Perfection with the more industrial metal setup, but this was still very enjoyable. The crowd reaction was strong again. As soon as they went on stage, you could feel that people really wanted to see them.

Till Lindemann
Saturday’s Lindemann show was my favorite of the two days.
Friday was great, no criticism there. But Saturday had more surprises and felt much more special.
For example, Meine Welt was performed completely. There was also Yukon, and I don’t remember ever seeing that song live before. Then there were older songs like Ladyboy and Gummi, plus Entre dos tierras again.
The show itself also felt different. The dancers had different choreographies, and even when some songs repeated from Friday, the presentation changed. They did not simply wear different clothes and do the same thing again. It really felt like another version of the show.

There was also a strong moment during the newer song Es brennt, where two dancers performed inside a large glass container filled with red, blood-like water. That looked really cool and fit the atmosphere perfectly.
On Friday, there were the typical cakes and fish moments, including huge fake fish. On Saturday there was also a scene where one dancer was on a table and threw something into the crowd, I think small fish again.
The ending was Und die Engel singen.
I love the song, but as a final song it felt a little strange to me. When it ended, I expected another track to come. It did not feel like a final closing moment. That is only my opinion, not really a criticism, because the song itself was beautifully performed.
Overall, Saturday was excellent. The vocals were strong, the band sounded great, and the show had enough differences to justify the whole “two days, two worlds” idea.

Final Thoughts
I would rate Till Fest very positively.
I don’t know if this event will happen again, but I really hope so. I had a great time, the sound was excellent, the organization worked well, the merch was strong, and the idea of two different Lindemann shows across two days was genuinely interesting.
Some friends told me that they found the supporting bands not that exciting and that they mainly went because of Till. I understand that. But for around 200 euros for a two-day festival pass with roughly ten or more bands, I think the price was fair. A normal Lindemann concert already costs around 90 euros, so in that context, the festival price made sense to me.
Could it have been cheaper? Maybe. But 160 euros would probably already be too low for something of this scale.
For me, the event worked. Friday was strong, Saturday was even better, and the location in front of the Völkerschlachtdenkmal gave the whole thing a very special atmosphere.
If Till Fest returns, I would absolutely be interested in going again.
