Expectations

I was in Berlin for a run of concerts and decided to catch this one because the lineup looked incredible for the price: four strong bands for only 44 euros.

I only really knew Ankor, since I’ve seen them before and my wife is a fan, but I checked out the other bands beforehand so I had an idea of their sound. Still, I wasn’t prepared for how many fans each band already had — especially Nothing More. Their merch line was huge, and the hall was full of excited people.

For me, this night was the perfect chance to discover new bands and enjoy a full metalcore evening with completely different energies on one stage.

Arrival, Merch & Beer

The venue was the Astra Kulturhaus, easy to reach, with lots of food options outside and plenty of bars inside. Astra always does a good job with fast access and many toilets, which makes the concert experience much more relaxed.

The beer was Astra, priced at 5 euros plus 1 euro deposit — very fair for Berlin.

Merch was strong and well presented.

From Ankor I bought two signed vinyls, signed CDs, and a beautiful Japanese-style design bag for my wife. Solence had signed vinyls as well, so I grabbed one of those too. And from Nothing More I managed to get the very last signed vinyl at the merch stand.

After the show, both Ankor and Solence came out to meet fans, sign items, and take photos — something I always appreciate.

Ankor

Ankor opened the night with a 30-minute set and absolutely delivered. Six songs full of movement, power, and an excellent sound mix.

They are from Spain, and their singer Jessie is from the UK, but she speaks perfect Spanish, which I noticed when talking to her.

The entire band had incredible stage presence — constantly moving, jumping, and interacting with the crowd. Jessie balanced metalcore screams and clean vocals perfectly.

A fantastic opener that set the tone for the whole night. They’ll be at Rock im Park next year, and I highly recommend seeing them live.

Solence

I wasn’t sure what to expect because some songs I heard beforehand didn’t fully fit my taste… but live they were excellent.

The crowd reactions were wild — singing, jumping, constant movement. Their sound works perfectly in a hall like Astra, with their blend of electronic elements and heavier parts.

They also played around 30 minutes and announced another tour for next year, plus festivals the year after.

After this concert, I re-listened to their music and now enjoy songs I didn’t like before — that’s how good their live performance was.

Catch Your Breath

Catch Your Breath were the most melodic band of the night, which made them the one I personally connected with the least. Not because they’re bad — just because their style is softer and more emotional.

But this is exactly what made the evening strong:four bands, each with a different style, all fitting together.

I spoke with a woman from Erfurt who said they were her favorite of the night — proof that this lineup offered something for everyone.

Nothing More

Nothing More completely surprised me. I had no idea they had so many fans here. When they stepped on stage, the atmosphere exploded.

Vocals were excellent, the sound was powerful, and the performance felt emotionally intense. I recognized a few songs and enjoyed all of them — enough that some will probably end up in my playlists.

Their connection with the crowd was undeniable, especially among younger fans. Nothing More clearly knows how to move people.

Final Thoughts

This was one of those perfect metalcore nights:

four good bands, all different, all strong live.

The room was full, the energy was high, and the sound was solid throughout the evening. It’s great to see how many young fans are joining the scene and keeping metalcore fresh and exciting.

For 44 euros, this show was an incredible bargain. I’d see this exact lineup again without hesitation.
