Our first time in Aschaffenburg – and what a night!
First time in Aschaffenburg, first time seeing Ankor live – we had no specific expectations, but in the end, it turned out to be an incredible show. Shoganai, the album the band released in 2024, already sounded great on record, but hearing it live? That was a whole different experience.
With A Dark Reborn and Conquer Divide as support acts, the lineup looked solid from the start. And from the moment we arrived, it was clear the crowd was ready for an intense night.
Getting there & first impressions – The perfect venue for a club show
We immediately liked Aschaffenburg – a small but lively city with short, easy walking distances. The Colos-Saal venue was just a 10-minute walk from our hotel, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free.
There wasn’t an overly long queue, but the place was either sold out or very close to it. Even before stepping inside, you could tell this was going to be loud. Fans were in high spirits, discussing past shows, setlists, and favorite songs.
Merch check – A collector’s dream
The merch selection was impressive:
Ankor had multiple shirts, CDs, and two vinyl records. Of course, we grabbed the latest one.
Conquer Divide also had shirts, CDs, and a vinyl release.
A Dark Reborn had CDs and a few shirt designs available.
A cool detail: The guy at the Ankor merch stand was super friendly, and we ended up chatting with him in Spanish—most of the band members are from Spain. It's always great to see how down-to-earth and approachable bands can be at club venues like this.
Beer – Great selection & fast service
When it comes to beer, this night was a 10/10. The selection came from Brauerei Faust, and we tried the Kellerbier and Helles—both absolute winners. Fresh, well-chilled, and the perfect match for a metal show.
Service at the bar was outstanding—super fast, barely any waiting time. You got your drink almost instantly and could head right back into the action.

Support acts – A perfect warm-up for Ankor
A Dark Reborn
First band of the night, and they immediately set the tone. Heavy riffs, a dark yet energetic atmosphere, and a vocalist who delivered both clean singing and deep growls. A great opener that got the crowd hyped from the start.

Conquer Divide
We hadn’t followed the band before, but that changed quickly. Modern metalcore with strong melodies and an energetic stage presence. By the second song, the crowd was fully engaged, and the band had everyone in the venue moving.
Both support acts were the perfect fit for the lineup, making sure the energy level stayed high from start to finish.

Ankor live – Pure energy from start to finish
Then came Ankor—and what can we say? It was an absolute blast.
From the very first song, the energy on stage was unreal. The band gave everything right from the start, and the crowd immediately responded. Vocalist Jessie Williams has an incredible stage presence and one of the most versatile voices we’ve heard live. She effortlessly switched between clean vocals, screams, and growls—flawlessly executed.

The setlist was a perfect mix of new Shoganai tracks and older fan favorites. Live, the songs felt even more powerful than on record. One of the biggest highlights? The crowd participation—singing, jumping, clapping—the atmosphere was simply insane.

Ticket price – A killer deal
One thing that needs to be mentioned: The ticket was only 35 euros—for three amazing bands! In a time when many tours charge double or more, this was an absolute bargain.
Final verdict – This band is a must-see!
We went in with no huge expectations and ended up experiencing a truly powerful concert evening. Ankor have insane stage presence, the crowd was all in, and the setlist was spot on.
Add to that a great lineup of support bands, an excellent merch selection, great beer, and an all-around fantastic venue—this night delivered on every level.
Next time, we’ll be grabbing tickets right away—no doubt about it.
